Baggins Pearls

Anil Maloo, founder and owner of Baggins, is the eldest grandson of Shikharchand Chodhry, founder of Orient Pearl and La Perle D' Orient. Anil’s extensive knowledge in gemstones, precious stones, pearls, pearl farming, and jewelry making, has provided him the solid foundation from which to create inspiring new designs with gem quality pearls. He started his career working initially for a diamond company in Bombay. He then moved to Japan for three years where he worked for a pearl company and subsequently moved to Vietnam to set up a pearl farm. After two years, Anil decided to further his extensive knowledge by studying at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California.

Since being founded in Los Angeles in 2002, Baggins has carved a niche in the jewelry industry as a provider of innovative, top quality Akoya, South Sea, and Tahitian Cultured Pearl products. Baggins proudly serves a multitude of top retailers across the country with product which has become synonymous with superior quality and cutting-edge style. As one of the largest and most reputable pearl companies in the United States, Baggins’ key philosophy is to serve and educate customers to the best of its ability, in order to foster long-term and successful relationships.
